A ride out with Kay this morning to a favourite lookout point on Route de Muy. On the road and rolling before 8am again although not quite as early as I’d hoped. Up to and through Callas before dropping down Gorges de Pennafort and past Château d’Esclans – a winery globally recognised for driving the modern “Rosé Renaissance” and most famous for producing Whispering Angel, widely regarded as the worldwide standard for premium Provence rosé.

Turning left at the island we then headed up to Col du Blavet where we took the obligatory photos at the viewing point. Back home through Bagnols-en-Forêt and Saint-Paul-en-Forêt towards Fayence. 37 miles with close to 1,000m of climbing and super heated by the time we got back to Claviers. Really need a 7am start for rides of 2-3 hours in flaming June.
